Hello.

It's never going to be the same, til the life I knew comes to my house and says hello...

Monday Mournin'

It's 2:33 on a Monday Morning.

I wish I felt like calling it a night, but it's been a slow weekend with little to do. Priorities were usurped by trying to heal.

I got surgery again on Wednesday. I did a little bit of moving around since then, but overall I've stayed pretty quiet. Was excited to watch some EPL on Saturday as you can see below. Spent a lot of time revisiting Oasis albums. Also really digging the new(ish) Darker My Love record "2."

Hopefully meeting up with a few people to play music some time this week--either Wednesday, Friday or Saturday is how it's looking. I need to catch a train and study for my LSAT February 6th.

Til then it's Monday Mournin'

VILLA WIN! AVFC Beat Manchester United at Old Trafford!

Just a quick note to say it was a fun match to watch and a pretty great victory.

As a Villa supporter, I've never got to enjoy watching the team I support take the scalp of Man United at Old Trafford.

Villa Victory, World Cup Draw, City Win at Chelsea...

Living in Chicago, you can't luck out every week with your EPL cable coverage, and this week they weren't airing the Villa match as Villa took on Hull City at Villa Park. I was pleased when I woke up to some good news, however, namely that Villa seemed to dismantle Hull without too much trouble.

Richard Dunne and Gabby celebrating Dunne's strike, which I'm still waiting to see on the highlights.

A thrilling match I did get to see was Chelsea and Manchester City. I was excited for Eastlands and co. when Robinho came through, and I thought he played a great game. Also, for me it's always exciting just to see Chelsea lose--especially this season. They look invincible half the time. Ancoletti has turned that team into a veritable force of strength, and I think it's fair to say that City gave them a run for their money today...no pun intended.

After World Cup draw yesterday, I'm actually pretty excited to see the USA get drawn in a group with England, though it's going to be tough to make it through. I'm confident that this will be a good World Cup for the US; they seem to have a fairly good squad.

Tattoo San Chicago

Lately, I've been wanting to finish my left arm and try to get tattooed in Chicago.

It's not necessarily going to happen. The person who tattooed me in San Diego, CA is the almighty Rob Benavides. In fact, you can see my arm here. I feel like I need to wait to get in touch with Rob before trying to speak to other artists. Jackie Dunn Smith also tattoos with Rob at Flying Panther, and they're both artists that I need to contact soon. Check out the photo below that I found on Jackie's portfolio:

Clash reference? Hope so.

I've been on the hunt for some great artists in Chicago, of which there's no shortage, of course.

Mario Desa and Nick Colella of the Chicago Tattooing and Piercing Co. deserve honorable mention. I'm a huge fan. The shop is also supposed to be among the oldest in the nation.

Deluxe Tattoo is allegedly one of the best shops in the US. Jason Vaughn of Deluxe has a pretty impressive portfolio.

Mystic Tattoo on the corner of Cicero and Belmont is where a friend named Nick works, who does awesome, clean, traditional Americana style tattoos with a certain amount of panache.

Way too many good artists.
