I just finished watching a miserable match of football between Aston Villa and WBA.
Villa--I'm not sure why--have lost all their desire this season. It's as if they think there's nothing left to fight for, even though they're far from safe. It was a miserable match, even with 10 men there was no attacking threat.
Paging through tattoo shops around town as I've been craving something new. I'm pretty broke, so it would almost have to be something that's small enough for me to afford. Still might do it. Finding Mario Desa's twitter account was pretty awesome, dude is legit.
Listening to the Fall. About to smoke a cigarette, change my sheets, take a shower, and get ready to go down to the Barber Shop for a haircut. Then I gotta get a hold of a buddy out of town who called in a favor that may be more difficult to accomplish than I initially suspected.
Shit bands playing at HoB, should I go?
Seriously disappointed at the shit football I woke up to witness. Whatever. Hope today isn't a total loss.

website maintenance
I'm updating my website with current stuff that I've written and include a section of fun things I'm working on.
I'm putting up old press releases, one sheets, bios, reviews, and then newer health & wellness articles that I've written over the past year or two including short features and stuff. Cataloging it all now and should have it up pretty quickly.
Just sayin.

More on Football
In what has undoubtedly been a dreadful season for Aston Villa, they were able to salvage a point from Stoke City this weekend and stay at 11th in the PL table. This is certain to help stifle the fears of relegation, but after watching the match, I'd have to say one would be hard-pressed not to expect a lot more from AVFC.
Darren Bent scored again--which, all things considering, cements the reason they paid so much to sign him--but I think his goal was a little lucky. Still, 100% of the shots not-taken never score.
The midfield partnership down the center and the spine of the team on the whole leaves a lot to be desired. Dunne was a rock last year--inspirational at many points--but this season he's gone missing in action. Collins is suspect to a lot of glaring mistakes, and Petrov and Reo-Coker still seem far off the mark from a pairing with Delph, Makoun, or even Michael Bradley.
I miss seeing Albrighton, and I'm hoping that Bannan comes back hungry from his loan spell at Leeds.
Here's to a good finish of this season and hopefully an important summer. Things can be looking a lot brighter next year...and hopefully I'll be at Villa Park to see it happen! UTV.

Some Other Drum
Listening to music and drinking coffee.
I was extra tired when I went to sleep last night, and this morning it's been tough for me to get ready. I'm taking the train that gets to Deerfield/Northbrook at around 9:25, so I'll have to arrange for a ride--cab or otherwise--to the office. Trying to see if I can go to the Cubs game tonight to see them take on my own San Diego Padres. We'll see.
Suited up for the game:
This song is incredible, and also a source of some San Diego pride.

Simply Incredible.
I've rediscovered a Jamaican legend.
Pat Kelly has a voice simply saturated with soul, at once vulnerable and penetrating. He's arguably one of the greatest rocksteady singers to have ever emerged, and in my opinion, sadly underappreciated. Below find three of his best.
